A practical approach to an holistic life
The Boundless Way draws on the Christian Contemplative tradition, Yoga and Zen to provide an holistic pathway to wellbeing, peace and happiness. This Way is suitable for people who already have some Christian experience but feel it's no longer enough, or have a yoga practice or an interest in Zen. It's also fine for people who have no experience of these traditions but who are seeking a practical but profound spiritual path.
The Christian contemplative path is one centred on inclusive, gentle experience of the divine presence
here and now.
But how to engage with it? "Find your contemplative practice and practice it. Find your contemplative community and enter it. Find your contemplative teaching and follow it" (James Finley). The Boundless Way may help you find all three
The word yoga means "to unite", and is the path of experiencing the unity of our own inherent nature (body, breath, mind), with that of the universe in which we live. The word yoga means "to unite", and is the path of experiencing the unity of our own inherent nature (body, breath, mind), with that of the universe in which we live. Yoga can also mean "attaining what was previously unobtainable" - due to making whole what previously felt separated. Feeling isolated from others, 'God', or even our own true-self, can be debilitating. Yoga can put us 'back together' again.
There are lots of 'Buddha's' in the shops to buy. But what do they really mean? Zen is the path of realising our interconnection and interdependence on one another. We need each other because we're both individual and community at the same time. The suffering of the world is sad and eloquent testimony to the opposite of this. It needn't be like that - Zen offers another path.
I offer a variety of residential retreats, day events and on-line retreats drawing on the wisdom of the three traditions above. Retreats include talks, discussion and quiet time as we look at how they can support us on our spiritual path. Click on Current Retreats below to see what residential retreats are happening and where. On-line Retreats (Retreats at home) are further down the page!
As a trained and authorised Spiritual Director / Accompanier, I offer the possibility of meeting either in-person or via Zoom. The purpose is to support and encourage you in your spiritual journey. If you feel stuck in your spiritual practice, prayer-life, or not sure what you believe any more, email me. I'd be delighted to help if possible.

Richard Rohr inspired day - "Vision of enchantment - all religious teachers have recognised that we human beings do not naturally see; we have to be taught how to see". ". We'll look into how seeing with deep clarity enables us to experience how 'everything belongs'.
Bede Griffiths inspired day - "Each of us is a word within One Word....as Aquinas says, all men are one Man" (excuse the old language!). Easter Eve can feel a bit empty - which is fine - but we might use some of the day to "return to the centre" of our spiritual life.
Thomas Merton inspired day - "The sun is rising. All the green trees are full of birds and their song comes up out of the wet bowers of the orchard. Crows swear pleasantly in the distance, and in the depths of my soul sits God". A beautiful compilation of some of Merton's journals on his experience of the natural world. Come, bring and share your experiences of the natural world too.
Diarmuid O'Murchu inspired day.
GREAT NEWS! Diarmuid will be with us for this retreat (note the date change to September 20th "Nothing in the gospels - probably in the entire Bible - can be taken literally. Poetry rather than prose, metaphor rather than objective statement, symbolic rather than the rational, all provide more reliable pathways to the underlying reality". We'll be looking with Diarmuid into this 'underlying reality' which can only be pointed toward then personally experienced as we 'come of age' in our faith journey.
Dom Aelred Graham inspired day.
"ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est" - wherever charity and love are found, God is there" . Written over 50 years ago this ground-breaking book by the Dominican Monk Aelred Graham looks toward the East and in particular the Hindu tradition to help refresh Christian faith. He asks - what is the end of Religion (its purpose)? Are we brave enough to look deeply into this, wherever it leads?
Inspired by the contemplative tradition.
A retreat to help us settle more deeply into the profound "underlying reality" of the Christmas message. Not based on anyone famous, just my offer to create a space for us to explore the boundless message of the Angels ...."God with us".
